Rimmel Wake Me Up Line Swatches

You probably don't know this, but I'm a huge fan of Zoe aka Zoella on her blog and youtube. So the other day I was watching one of her videos where she was raving about the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I looked it up and found out that it is currently only sold in the UK, which was very disappointing. Just as I gave up hope of trying the product anytime soon, I came across some Wake Me Up products in Kmart! I was really surprised because I've never heard anything about these products before. I picked a few up and decided to share them with you!

There was no real display of these products and let me just say that there's never really any order in the beauty department of my Kmart, but I still managed to spot these suckers on a random shelf. They had out the Wake Me Up Concealer and the Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch highlighters. I picked up one of the concealers, which didn't have a color name, and two of the highlighters.

The Wake Me Up Concealer looks pretty straight forward. The packaging looks like general concealer packaging and does have a doe foot applicator. The packaging states that it will work towards "Anti-fatigue effects"so it sounds like there may be some sort of caffeine effect in this. We'll see!

As you can see, this product comes with a doe foot applicator and is quite thick at first glance. I will be experimenting with this concealer more and I'll let you know weather I'm a fan or not.

Next is the Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch highlighters. I got two in the shades 001 Flush of Peal and 003 Peach Glow. Interestingly enough, these two shades are not shown on the Rimmel website, but the two that I decided against (a pink one and a shimmering sands one) are. They both have a creamy consistency and can be built up to have a more effective color. I think these will be great as highlighters during the summer, especially the peach one.

Here are some failure swatches. I wanted to show you that they are light and can be builded up to get a better color. The top one is Flush of Pearl and it's almost translucent shimmer. The bottom one, Peach Glow, is a very beautiful coraly-peach color which is also quite build-able.

Hope this was in some way entertaining or helpful to you! Good luck on your search if you are interested in these products. Let me know if you spot the Wake Me Up Foundation in the US cause I really want to give it a try! :)

Drugstore Haul!

Hello there! I thought I'd do a little blog-post haul. I've never done this before so I hope someone finds this enjoyable! I've been seeing some awesome drugstore collections so I picked up some new products, as well as some essentials! These items are from either Walgreens or Kmart.

I found the new Nicole by OPI Modern Family Collection at Kmart and picked up two shades. I wasn't really into all of the purple and blue shades but I did really like Stand By Your Manny (I love that kid on the show too) because it reminded me of Essie Bikini So Tiny but with shimmer. It's a really nice light periwinkle blue. The next one in A Like-Haley Story... is a pretty pink color that was just unique in some unexplainable way. It's really just a bright pink with very minimal sparkles.

Next is kind of boring. Just wanted to try a new frizz control spray and a strengthening product and the L'Oreal Advanced Haircare line just came out so I thought I'd give it a try!

Wet n Wild totally revamped a bunch of their products and I thought I'd give this Mega Plump Mascara a try since I did like the original formula. The brush has bristles and my lashes tend to like those more than plastic ones, so I'm hoping for good results since these are so affordable.

I have been really annoyed with my brushes lately, it's odd. But I really just wanted to try something new! I saw this ecoTools brush set and thought I'd give it a try! It came with a powder brush, concealer brush, eyeshadow brush, eyeliner brush and eyebrow/lash tool. I can't wait to use these, they are very soft and dense!

I was looking through my collection the other day and realized I didn't really have a liquid liner! I do have some felt tips but I got the urge to try a liquid, and what do you know, I saw these on sale the next day! I picked up the Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Liner in Blackest Black and I can't wait to try it!

Fergie came also recently came out with the Wet n Wild Fergie Collection and I was interested in this lipstick in Old School Glam. It's a bright coral red and it has really good pigmentation and decent lasting power.

Here are just some rough swatches of the product. In person it's a darker and more vibrant coral. It applies smoothly and I think it's going to be great going from Winter to Spring!

Here's another boring one, I decided to try the new Wet n Wild CoverAll Cream Foundation. I've never really tried a Wet n Wild face product so I'm a little nervous. Hopefully this works out!

I'm super excited about this product from the Wet n Wild Fergie Collection! It's one of the powders, I'm not sure if it's considered a highlighter, blush or bronzer because they're mixed. Now these pictures do not give the color justice because Rose Golden Goddess is a beautiful coral toned bronzer shimmer color. It shows up much lighter than it is in the pictures. Sorry about that! It's a little too shimmery for this time of year but I can't wait to use it all the time in Spring and Summer!

SPOTTED! New NYC Plump & Tint Lip Collection and Eyes Wide Open Collection

I was at Kmart today, getting some small last minute gifts (I know I'm a failure..), and I came across these new NYC collections! I thought I'd take some pictures and get the word out there that they've been spotted, because I haven't heard anything about them! I have no idea if they're limited edition or permanent products, but I checked the NYC website and these product are on it if you want to get a closer look!

The first one is called Plump & Tint! and it's a lip collection. This collection features the Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm and Big Bold Plumping Lip Gloss. The lip balms seem to be similar to a few of the other lip tint balms that are out at the moment and the glosses didn't strike me as being unique, other than the fact that they are plumping. I didn't pick any up because I've been too into lip products lately and these didn't excite me. If you end up picking any up, please let me know what you think!

 *  *  *

Right next to the lip products, I came across the Eyes Wide Open collection of eye products. This collection includes the Big Bold Curl Mascara, *HD Color Eyeshadow Trios, Sparkle Eye Dust and *High Definition Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner. The eye dust eye-shimmers seemed kind of interesting but I didn't really have any need for them. Again this collection did not really jump out at me, but I did pick up one of the HD Color Eyeshadow Trios in Central Park Plums and a High Definition Felt Tip Liquid Liner in Black. I really liked the taupe and plum eyeshadows in the trio, and I have been wanting to try a new felt tip liner. I'll let you know how I like those, if you're interested!

If you ever have a request for a post or want me to hunt a product down, just let me know!

Hope everyone is having a happy holiday season! Love to all!

L'Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stain [Lip Glosses] - REVIEW AND SWATCHES

I have been on a serious roll when it comes to finding new lip products lately... if only applying to college were that easy. I found these L'Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stain glosses at Rite Aid, just by chance, and I think I'm in love. Not to be over dramatic or anything, but these are really impressing me. I've only had them a few days and I've worn them so many times already. I remember a few weeks ago I heard they were out and ran to Target to get them, only to find out they actually were not out yet. I completely forgot about them until I happened across them in Rite Aid! I'm going to include some pictures and a few amateur swatches, so let me know what you think of them!

Here are a few pictures of the display. The colors in order are: Pink Perseverance, *Pink Resistance, *Rose On and On, Lilac Ever After, Berry Persistent, Infinite Fuchsia, Coral Tattoo, Pink Rebellion, *Endless Red, Stubborn Plum, Ever Lasting Carmel, *Eternally Nude. See a pattern in those names? It's kind of funny and I didn't realize it till I got home and was swatching them, but all of the names have to do with 'long-lasting,' which makes sense considering they're a 'shine stain.' I put a * next to the ones I purchased and will be swatching.

On the left are the first swatches of (colors top-down) Rose On and On, Eternally Nude, Endless Red and Pink Resistance. In the picture to the right, are the same colors after I tried to wipe them off with a tissue. So as you can see, they do have a staining effect and if you have the gloss on for longer, they tend to stain darker. All of the glosses have a nice sheen and they definitely look like you're wearing a gloss.

Rose On and On is a very pretty rosy color with a nice sheen to it when on the lips.

Eternally Nude is your standard nude with a hint of caramel, definitely darker on the lips than it appears in the tube.

Endless Red is, for a lack of better description, a light red, which has a hint of a dark pink (pictured below on lips).

Pink Resistance is a light pink with a hint of coral in it. It's lighter than the nude and leaves just the nicest color on your lips to give em a little oomph. This one is definitely my favorite!

As you can see, this was another part of the display. They're advertised as being made up of 30% water, which is interesting because they don't feel very heavy but are a little sticky. They have a good lasting power and although after eating a meal the shine was gone, some color pigmentation was still on my lips.

I really do like the packages on these, because they're small and chic. The gold tube is the same material as the original L'Oreal Color Caresse lipsticks. It does get finger print marks on it, but I'm not one to really care about that too much. I like how the color is visible through the plastic, but don't let this deceive you because the color does not always swatch true to the way it looks in the tube!

I think that $9.99 is pretty expensive for a lip product at the drugstore and I didn't even realize the price till after I bought them. But if you're interested, I think picking up a few would be worth it because they're going to last you a while AND be long lasting on your lips. Let me know if you've found any and which one's you like!
