SPOTTED! New NYC Plump & Tint Lip Collection and Eyes Wide Open Collection

I was at Kmart today, getting some small last minute gifts (I know I'm a failure..), and I came across these new NYC collections! I thought I'd take some pictures and get the word out there that they've been spotted, because I haven't heard anything about them! I have no idea if they're limited edition or permanent products, but I checked the NYC website and these product are on it if you want to get a closer look!

The first one is called Plump & Tint! and it's a lip collection. This collection features the Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm and Big Bold Plumping Lip Gloss. The lip balms seem to be similar to a few of the other lip tint balms that are out at the moment and the glosses didn't strike me as being unique, other than the fact that they are plumping. I didn't pick any up because I've been too into lip products lately and these didn't excite me. If you end up picking any up, please let me know what you think!

Right next to the lip products, I came across the Eyes Wide Open collection of eye products. This collection includes the Big Bold Curl Mascara, *HD Color Eyeshadow Trios, Sparkle Eye Dust and *High Definition Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner. The eye dust eye-shimmers seemed kind of interesting but I didn't really have any need for them. Again this collection did not really jump out at me, but I did pick up one of the HD Color Eyeshadow Trios in Central Park Plums and a High Definition Felt Tip Liquid Liner in Black. I really liked the taupe and plum eyeshadows in the trio, and I have been wanting to try a new felt tip liner. I'll let you know how I like those, if you're interested!

L'Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stain [Lip Glosses] - REVIEW AND SWATCHES

I have been on a serious roll when it comes to finding new lip products lately... if only applying to college were that easy. I found these L'Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stain glosses at Rite Aid, just by chance, and I think I'm in love. Not to be over dramatic or anything, but these are really impressing me. I've only had them a few days and I've worn them so many times already. I remember a few weeks ago I heard they were out and ran to Target to get them, only to find out they actually were not out yet. I completely forgot about them until I happened across them in Rite Aid! I'm going to include some pictures and a few amateur swatches, so let me know what you think of them!

Here are a few pictures of the display. The colors in order are: Pink Perseverance, *Pink Resistance, *Rose On and On, Lilac Ever After, Berry Persistent, Infinite Fuchsia, Coral Tattoo, Pink Rebellion, *Endless Red, Stubborn Plum, Ever Lasting Carmel, *Eternally Nude. See a pattern in those names? It's kind of funny and I didn't realize it till I got home and was swatching them, but all of the names have to do with 'long-lasting,' which makes sense considering they're a 'shine stain.' I put a * next to the ones I purchased and will be swatching.

On the left are the first swatches of (colors top-down) Rose On and On, Eternally Nude, Endless Red and Pink Resistance. In the picture to the right, are the same colors after I tried to wipe them off with a tissue. So as you can see, they do have a staining effect and if you have the gloss on for longer, they tend to stain darker. All of the glosses have a nice sheen and they definitely look like you're wearing a gloss.

Rose On and On is a very pretty rosy color with a nice sheen to it when on the lips.

Eternally Nude is your standard nude with a hint of caramel, definitely darker on the lips than it appears in the tube.

Endless Red is, for a lack of better description, a light red, which has a hint of a dark pink (pictured below on lips).

Pink Resistance is a light pink with a hint of coral in it. It's lighter than the nude and leaves just the nicest color on your lips to give em a little oomph. This one is definitely my favorite!

As you can see, this was another part of the display. They're advertised as being made up of 30% water, which is interesting because they don't feel very heavy but are a little sticky. They have a good lasting power and although after eating a meal the shine was gone, some color pigmentation was still on my lips.

I really do like the packages on these, because they're small and chic. The gold tube is the same material as the original L'Oreal Color Caresse lipsticks. It does get finger print marks on it, but I'm not one to really care about that too much. I like how the color is visible through the plastic, but don't let this deceive you because the color does not always swatch true to the way it looks in the tube!

I think that $9.99 is pretty expensive for a lip product at the drugstore and I didn't even realize the price till after I bought them. But if you're interested, I think picking up a few would be worth it because they're going to last you a while AND be long lasting on your lips. Let me know if you've found any and which one's you like!

Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls - FIRST LOOK

Oh hey! So today I'm going to be doing kind of a "first impression" blog post for the Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls highlighter. I picked this up from the grocery store the other day but I've been eyeing it FOREVER. I was just really in the mood for a change in my normal face routine and I suppose a different highlight was just what I needed.

This is not a new product to the shelves, it's been out for quite a while. From what I've seen, the highlighters come in three different shades, Light Bronze Pearl (light skin tones), Beige Pearl, Translucent, and Bronze Pearl (medium skin tones). I picked up the Medium Skin Tones (even though I'm extremely pale at the moment) because I thought the mixture of colors was the most appealing and something a little different to add to my collection.

The packaging was one of the elements that first attracted me to the product. The top has a really cute little pearl in the middle and the product itself looks like a swirl of big and small pearls. The compact flips the product up to reveal a mirror and small brush space underneath. Usually I really like it when a powder comes with these features because it makes it so easy to touch up on the go. I honestly don't really like the extra features for the highlighter because I'm never really going to have to touch up my highlighter, and the packaging is a little too bulky to carry around in a clutch anyways. I think it's good to have a little brush though for people who may want to have a separate brush just for this highlighter.

The Bronze Pearl has swirls of a luminescent yellow gold and a darker brown. When I first used it I thought it was a little flakey and may have had too much shimmer and glitter specks in it. I found that if I use a different brush and a lighter hand in applying, it goes on very smoothly and it adds a highlight as well as a beautiful glow to my face. I can go more into detail and swatch this product if it's requested.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks VIVID Collection

I was in Kmart the other day just looking around and checking to see if there were any good makeup sales, when I came across a Maybelline Lipstick display up on a high shelf. I looked closer and soon realized it was a collection of the Color Sensational Lipsticks in 'Vivid' colors. I looked up the collection on my phone and found out it's a collection of the lipsticks, supposedly being released in January 2013. Looks like I got myself a catch! The display was up on a high shelf, as I mentioned, so it was difficult to see all of the color choices. I got some decent pictures with my phone.

The collection is basically a bunch of crazy bright colors, great for daring women like myself. Just by the bright neon red packaging, it already gives off an exciting vibe before it even touches your lips.

It was difficult to get a good picture of the color choices, but then again, the collection is scheduled to come out in January and I'd hate to spoil the collection for anyone! For me, half the fun of a new collection is finding it and exploring the colors! I ended up picking up three, which is amazing since they were all beautiful!

After pondering though my choices for twenty minutes, I finally decided on Shocking Coral (a very bright coral pink color, similar to MAC's Viva Glam Nicki, maybe a little darker), Vibrant Mandarin (a red-orange not like anything I own, comes out to be a light-red coral color), Vivid Rose (a bright pink rose, there's really no other way to describe it!) and Neon Red (a light red-orange that comes out a darker orange-red than the bullet shows). I decided to stay away from the bright fushia and purple colors for now, just because these seemed more wearable for a high school student. If you'd like to see swatches, let me know!

Priced at $6.99, these new lipsticks are really to die for if you're into color. And if not, try something new! I have a feeling that this summer and spring are going to be full of bright and exciting lip trends, and now, vivid.

I may post swatches of the few that I picked up in a few days if there is any interest. Hope you enjoyed and good luck on your search!

If there is ever a product you'd like me to try out or go on a hunt for, please let me know!
